BlockHosts is a type of basic firewall that uses the windows block hosts file. Websites that you block will be mapped to your loopback address (127.0.0.1).
For example if you block google.com, when you go to Google in any browser or any program tries to contact the Google domain, your computer will think that the Google website is hosted on your computer. The result will be your computer cant find that domain and will not access any content from it.
BlockHosts has a optional built in common block list of over 1,300 sites that include common ad sites, phishing, and spam sites.
